winchester > The weather was seldom muted during my visit to Eagle, Alaska. Scattered showers made for rapidly changing and stunningly beautiful lighting. This scene was a dozen or so miles from me but appears closer because of my telephoto lens.
winchester > Rain makes light, elegant lines as it falls from the sky. Strong backlighting isn&#8217;t common so this is rarely illustrated well. I was elated to have this scene in front of my eyes!

winchester > I shot this during a tough bush flight in Alaska. We went through a converging front system with plenty of turbulence. VFR conditions were worsening so we ended up following the Yukon at 150 feet altitude to our destination. It was at this time that I remembered reading that bush flying is one of the riskiest professions on earth...
Even six months after my visit, the Alaskan Range still fascinates me. I look forward to returning.
